Nice neo. Mine would be.. "You want Angel, no? Okay. Iam going to give him to you..." cue battle of bloody porch.

Out of many that sprang to mind -- the crate chamber in "Raiders," Osgood's last line in "Some Like it Hot," Ripley in her lifeboat sleep-pod in "Alien," the Star Child above Earth, Antoine Doinel in freeze frame on the beach, the cemetery scene at the end of "The Third Man," and some mentioned above -- I'd pick this one, from "E.T.". Always loved the simplicity and heroism of this image, the lighting in the background, the emotion on the boy's face as wind is buffeting his hair. And then it simply cuts to black with the orchestral crescendo. That was a great editorial choice because, as scripted (not sure if they shot it) there was to be a coda after this, where the boys were back home playing D&D with Elliott part of the group, followed by a crane shot up to the roof where the Speak and Spell antenna is aimed up at the stars. It didn't need that. And this was the perfect place to end.

Electra Glide in Blue. Holy hell that ending blew me away. It comes out of nowhere and the final shot is outstanding. Nice thread, Gordon.

Obviously, this final shot needs to be seen in motion as the color drains out of the scene.
