Stanley and Iris - Someone needs to explain how scores from two different studios managed to get onto one release. Can you imagine the doors this opens for future releases? Yes, two different studios but doors were not knocked down really because Varese has perpetuity rights to Stanley & Iris, so it was just a matter of going to Universal for additional tracks to license as you would do with adding existing songs to a score album release. With it being for the same composer/director collaboration and too short to release on its own, Universal agreed, but it all had to be prepped first so Mr. Williams could hear it and okay it, which he did. Pat Sullivan and I worked on this release together and it turned out very well. Mike M.

Well, looks like I’ll have to rip the isolated score audio of the EYE OF THE NEEDLE Blu Ray and make my own CD copy. Probably. I still live in hope that one day Varese will revisit this, The Other, and the two Flint scores...but until then it's fortunate that Twilight Time exists. I for one am of course disappointed that there is no Jerry in this batch, considering the huge number of titles of his Varese and only Varese can expand. That said, my disappointment was short-lived because this is a wonderful batch. Stanley & Iris is an even better release than expected with the premiere of Pete N Tillie included. Great job Mike, Robert, and everyone involved at Varese! Now I think this just leaves The Cowboys as the last remaining Williams score they control, and I really hope that's coming up as it's one of my favorite Williams scores. Under Siege 2 confirms Varese's continued commitment to Basil Poledouris and is great to see. Even discounting the bonus source cues, this appears to be five minutes longer than the unmentionable which is fantastic. (Even if that wasn't the case it would of course be a must-buy.) I hope On Deadly Ground is up next. And The Black Cauldron is one of the few titles I hoped to see as an Encore reissue. (Usually I'd prefer things get expanded with Deluxe Editions, but this was a unique album re-recording made around the time of the film's release.) It's a wonderful George Korngold-produced Utah recording and a worthy companion to Intrada's release of the complete film recording. Yavar
