From FMR: Marco Beltrami is set to compose the music for the upcoming Spike TV event mini-series Waco. The show is written by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine, Devil) & Drew Dowdle and stars Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch. The 6-parter is based on the true story of the 1993 FBI siege of a religious sect in Waco, Texas that resulted in the deadly shoot out and fire. John Erick Dowdle is also directing the series.

The Dowdle brothers are executive producing the Weinstein Television production with Shannon, Kitsch, Harvey Weinstein & Bob Weinstein, David Glasser, Jennifer Malloy and Megan Spanjian. Beltrami has previously collaborated with Dowdle on the 2015 feature No Escape starring Pierce Brosnan & Owen Wilson.

No release date has been announced yet for Waco.

Wow, this is the first I'm hearing about it, and it looks interesting! I remember the actual events, so it'll be interesting to see how accurate it is and how many liberties they take.

The Dowdle Bros.' No Escape was one of the most intense cinematic experiences I've ever witnessed, so I'm sure they'll do right by these events -- if not in historic accuracy (which they probably will), then in grand-scale suspense and drama.

For those not aware, Marco Beltrami has not been attached to this recently aired program for quite some time. Jordan Gagne and Jeff Russo replaced him.

Lokutus always seems to be on top of the composers he reports on and when the scores are/were recorded, so was this one?

I'd guess that it was, since it's playing on Spike tonight. wink
