This is a score by Victor Young which I would love to see released. The film is historical tripe but the score is brilliant. My other big wish is for 'The Vikings' by Nacimbene.
Considering the age of these films it would probably be necessary for these scores to be newly recorded.
Yeah, I's like to see the BLACKBEARD score released, too, but the chances are very slim. I'm pretty sure no one is going to fund a new recording. Although it's wonderful score, the producers of a new recording would never recoup their investment. If the original tracks existed, that might be a different story; however, BLACKBEARD was an RKO picture, and virtually no actual music tracks exist from RKO. The only chance is that there might be a set of acetates somewhere.
As for THE VIKINGS, who knows? I know that Legend put out a CD of THE VIKINGS and SOLOMON AND SHEBA quite a while back. Perhaps they know if any additional tracks exist.
