You just haven't earned it yet, baby. Hey man! If Mark Isham can address me as "MISTER" , so can a lowly board poster!

Now it's "BRAAAAM!" that they can't handle: http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=120876&forumID=1&archive=0 It's like reading a transcript of grandfathers lamenting the demise of the big band era. I thought it started with GAME OF THRONES! ? I don't think the BRRAAAM is played out quite yet; the last independent trailer I scored made sure to mention adding them specifically. And that was only a few months ago. It's kind of a cool sound I guess. I really liked it in Man of Steel, as it seemed to fit the apocalyptic terraforming thing going down dere.

One of the things I appreciate about this site is that there are so many posters with a wide variety of preferences, so much so that any general statement will be disputed instantly. I say that because I'm about to make a general statement. I think the posters' tastes are more often than not driven by two things: 1) loyalty to a specific composer, and, 2) a preference or affinity for certain genres of films. 1) The fans of (name your favorite composer) will be more willing to indulge one of that composer's lesser scores than to accept a superior effort from (name a composer who is not one of your favorites), and would be more willing to appreciate more avant-garde approaches from their favorite composer than a more moderate approach from someone else. 2) Sci-fi, horror, Marvel, fantasy--these types of scores generate a lot of interest from posters, and sometimes these types of films include more avant-garde styles; if this musical approach was in some non horror/sci-fi/fantasy films would it be as accepted by those same fans? Any thoughts?

Anyone watch The 11th Hour newscast on MSNBC? Wondering about the theme. Zimmerian with martial druma and Braaam! Thanks. Brm
