When I first heard about these, I was told they would resemble gorillas. Imagine looking directly head-on at a gorilla and how its front arms are thick and give it an intimidating presence. For this reason, they were called “Gorilla Walkers” informally by some during production." The source added, "The body itself also evokes the gorilla posture because it has a high back that slants down towards the rear. It makes it look broad-shouldered. A bad example would be the Jawa sandcrawler, if that makes any sense. The front legs also have a tiny cross-bar type deal that allows its front legs to kind of scoop forward and then scoop back. In the very brief moment I saw a demonstration of the walking motion, it had a very different rhythm and pace from the classic AT-AT. I think it probably moves faster too. If I’m not being clear, this thing is a mechanized AT-AT gorilla."

Justice League looks like they took everything i don't like about Bats v Supes and put it in a CGI paint-mixer and shook it till this film fell out in front of a green screen. Looks horrible and feels off. Cyborg looks unconvincing and then seems to be attempting an Iron Man/War Machine impersonation with the flying bit. I like the Aquaman actor and it looks like he's the sort of comedy relief along with the over-designed costumed Flash kid. Gal Gadot looks great and will probably the best thing about it. I just hope they can punch their troubles into submission. At least it can't be Suicide Squad level bad. I'm hoping good things for Valerian. If they can redo Mad Max with another actor successfully, they might be able to redo Escape From New York (which i love) successfully, too.

DUMBO---Colin Farrell is in talks to play Holt, a widowed father of two kids, in the Tim Burton remake of the 1941 animated movie. Danny DeVito and Eva Green also star. Consider how lucky we are, even with this un-needed re-visioning: all you had to do is swap out "Colin" with "Will" and it would have been a guranteed Nostalgia Critic review.

Justice League looks like they took everything i don't like about Bats v Supes and put it in a CGI paint-mixer and shook it till this film fell out in front of a green screen. Looks horrible and feels off. Cyborg looks unconvincing Agreed. This looks cheap, boring and god awful. Besides, anything that has the Beatles in it evokes my immediate and utmost distrust. D.S. They have just drained all the colour out of the comics I read when I was a kid. The tv stuff might be overly fluffy at times, but at least it resembles what I grew up with. It's all starting to look like one big grunge fest. Gimme Adam West anyday.

When I was a kid I liked the JLA I think above everything in the various comics. But Green Lantern was in it, and the Martian Manhunter, not who/whatever Cyborg is. But I doubt that I've so much as glanced at one in a newsagent since I was 11 or 12. A lot has changed in comics since 1972. Even Scotsmen and Englanders write for American comic books now. In fact, one of the best-regarded JLA eras was written by a chap called Grant Morrison. Not that you'd be interested. Still, it's quite different than the comics published during the Edward Heath administration (or whatever term Brits use). Cyborg is a relatively recent creation--I believe he was part of the 1980 NEW TEEN TITANS comics, which I only read occasionally; not really a fan, though I probably "should" be, but then there's only so much time, money, and inclination.

They have just drained all the colour out of the comics I read when I was a kid. The tv stuff might be overly fluffy at times, but at least it resembles what I grew up with. It's all starting to look like one big grunge fest. i didn't think anyone here outside of a few of us actually even liked comics as very few ever participate in the long running comic threads going around on the board. Nice to meet you. Gimme Adam West anyday. Let's not get hysterical. I despise the Adam West Batman almost as much as Disco Stu hates the universe--but then no one can hate anything quite like Disco Stu hates everything. Thank you for the compliments, I feel touched (in a non offensive way.... well) but now who's getting hysterical? I don't hate the universe, just large parts of it. I love the Adam West Batman universe though as much as I hate most of the almost past 30 years on this planet. I love most all the colourful 70s superhero TV stuff Spider-man, Captain America, Wonder Woman and also the the 70s Buck Rogers and Galactica (but the 80 Galactica is my favourite). You will, no doubt, consider the main thread in this line up as rubbish, cheesy, camp or any other standard qualification but it really lifts my spirits. Let's be honest Jim: the original M.I. TV series is superior in joy power than the "modern" Tom Cruise series will ever be. It was the times, it was the music but most of all it was the looks of which the lush colours are an imporant part. That's the reason why the 3rd season of the 60s "Batman", and "Star Trek" and the 4th season of "Man from U.N.C.L.E." looked a little cheap compared to their earlier seasons. The lighting got cheaper and less atmospheric, and the colour was not as rich. Still it's an absolute overdose compared to the dross that seeps out of computers and hipster millenials these days. D.S.

D.S. You should indeed take it as the compliment it was intended to be. Even when I disagree with your viewpoints, I get a kick out of reading what you write. I'm a pretty cynical bastard myself, but I'm a hip Millennial compared to curmudgeonly you (and solium). I just wish you boys were as critical of Star Wars as you were the rest of pop culture. It's like there's a blind spot of nostalgic forgiveness or something. [Meta/personal reflections/reminscences deleted...]I can't admit to always having disliked Batman '66, but I did right around the time I turned seven. West's Batman makes the Super Friends one voiced by Olan Soule sound like Miller's Dark Knight Returns (which I know you hate). Never cared for BSG even during its first run and G80 even less so; it was always on Sundays, so the horror of school always loomed over the proceedings. I liked the ship, Cylons, and Lucifer's design, however. Even had the toy Cylon Raider with the shooting-though- chokable-to-the-less-evolved missiles. I've only seen bits and bobs of the Cruise franchise. Some impressive action set pieces, but it's not "my" M:I. I throroughly enjoyed BvS and MoS, though I am clearly in the marginalized minority. I also liked Knightfall and '90s Batman and JLA comics in general.
