or you can just rip the CD into ITUNES and just drop the dialogue tracks since they are separate tracks from the score.

That would be a bit cheaper.

The 12-cue music-only cd looks to be stereo. There's another cd with only 11 cues listed, and the one with dialog tracks. Are all three in stereo?

The Silva screen release is good enough, I like the dialogues in this score, it works well with the music.

Yes this is a straight reissue of the Japanese release which came out years ago.

I had it first time round.

Good CD.

But I believe both this and the Silva were mastered from vinyl.

Cheers

The Silva Screen CD is 11 album tracks plus dialogue tracks but it's the same content. Some releases combine "Goodbye Harry" and "Goodbye Harry (continuation)" into one track.

To Ford's suggestion, the only thing you can't do by merely re-sequencing the Silva Screen tracks is get rid of the Ipcress sound effect and Nigel Green saying, "And what do you think of that?" added to the end of "End Title", but you can easily remove that with a freeware sound editor.

Cheers

Looks like combining those two Harry cues would be longer than the single Harry track on the 11 track version. But my question was whether all 3 were in stereo, so you're saying for a fact that they are? Or assuming it?

There are only two official releases of Ipcress—the Japanese MCA disc and the Silva Screen disc—and both are in stereo.

Cheers

I only have the Silva and it's fine by me, I don't mind the dialogue.

I bought the Japanese reissue because it was super cheap and I had some Amazon credit, so it was virtually free.

After looking here, including in some ancient 2002 threads, I see some people suggesting the Japanese CD is LP-sourced, while the Silva is not.

Can anyone confirm this 100%

I hear crackling and static on the Japanese disc that sounds a bit like LP noise, but I hear a bit of it on the Silva too, though admittedly fainter.

I bought the original MCA Japanese CD at Tower Records in Piccadilly Circus in the mid 90s for £30 at the time, which probably works out as the most expensive CD I've ever bought!

That CD was clearly sourced from vinyl, as it can be heard in certain tracks though it sounds fine. I've never really noticed it as much with the Silva issue.

There was some mention of the Japanese reissue a few years ago on the website below. I remember having some discussion with Paul at the time who runs it, explaining that I paid more for it than he did!
