I've always like The Monkees. Never got around to BUYING anything of theirs, but I do have one single somewhere, given to me among many others as cast-offs from older family members growing up. A Little Bit Me I think it is..

I also remember borrowing an album from a friend with a bizarre track on it called Zilch.

But the tv show was definitely part and parcel of 60s tv, along with Batman, The Munsters and Man From UNCLE. Great stuff.

That would be HEADQUARTERS, "Zilch" being a track where they all try to repeat a (different) short phrase over and over for a minute. HEADQUARTERS is their third album, the one where they began playing all the instruments themselves. (With the exception of bass on a few tracks, as Peter was busy on piano, banjo, etc.)
