These are not film scores, but I am posting this topic here, because I think they would appeal to certain film score fans.
Edmond de Luca was a composer who released two albums in the late 1950s for Somerset Records. One was "Safari" and the other was "Conquerors of the Ages."
"Safari" is now on CD under the title "African Safari" by 101 Strings. Lots of records on Somerset were later released under the 101 Strings banner. It comes from the master tapes.
"Conquerors" was on CD, but it goes for a lot of money.

Thanks for alerting me to the "Safari" album - never heard of this one before!
It's odd how artists have been reassigned for so many of these early stereo releases on Somerset, etc. The CD I have for "Conquerors" is credited to the London Philharmonic Orchestra!
I see there are now a lot of Alshire downloads available that are stating "remastered from the original master tapes". Can anyone comment on what the classic 101 Strings "Espana" album sounds like as a supposedly remastered download?

I don't have that one, but I have the Alshire releases of "Safari" and "East of Suez." They are apparently from the masters - they don't sound like vinyl. They are on-demand CD-Rs, which does not thrill me, but that's the best we're going to get. They sound good - nothing earth shattering, but nothing to complain about either.
EDIT: I see now that Conquerors has also been credited to 101 Strings. It is available for streaming and purchase as an mp3 download, but it is not on a CD (R).
