Heal The Living
I just read about this movie at RogerEbert.com

The reviewer said the movie is excellent.
Here is what the reviewer said about the score.

“The film is scored by the great Alexandre Desplat, and the music expresses the tension, melancholy and urgency of these momentous events in the characters' lives. It acts as connective tissue between the narratives.”

I couldn’t find this score or movie mentioned anywhere else. Desplat lovers might be interested in knowing about this film.

Here is the trailer. It will be a sad movie and is a French movie. Hope it comes to my channels someday.

Anyone seen this movie or heard the score?

The scoring assignment was mentioned here:

Variety has a review that also speaks glowingly of Desplat's music.

But yeah, no reference of a soundtrack release. Shame, it sounds like Desplat was in top form.

It's currently playing for one week in Santa Monica, then I think it leaves L.A. completely.

If I'd known it was Desplat I might have tried to see it last weekend.

I saw it last weekend. There isn't a lot of score. What is there is mainly one piece for two pianos and electric violin.

The score is quite effective when it appears and is melodic without being overly sentimental.

Really not enough for a release unless you include the songs featured in the film and even then it would be a short album.

Maybe this would be a nice suite on a Desplat compilation CD.

Actually saw this movie unaware of who was scoring it (there are no main credits). Touching movie, but more a big commercial for organ donation (which is fine), that unfortunately completely lacks dramatic power and issues (although the final sequence is actually memorable).

Not much in term of score that I can remember, some restraint piano, but nothing striking at all. And during the movie I thought - well, this movie could be improved by some great delicate Desplat-like music - so big surprise when Desplat's name appeared on the End credits.
My humble opinion is that no album is no great loss, go back to "The Light Between Oceans" for great Desplat :-)
