I knew a family years ago who had two chihuahuas. They were horrid, ugly things with bulging eyes, they'd shake with either fear or anticipation whenever you went near them, and I seem to recall that they weren't the most continent of creatures. The dogs were ok, though.
I have a tan "Chiweenie" -- a Chihuahua/ Dachshund mix named Heidi. So very adorable, and loves to cuddle. For small breeds, along with Yorkies and French Bulldogs, they are the cutest to me.

Not my favorite dog by a long shot, but that's the wonderful thing about humans and dogs, we're all love something different. So Chihuahua's get loving companions too.
Ha, just left a friend's apartment. She and her two teens have a pair of the blasted overgrown rats. It is amazing how many folks in my neck of the woods have one. Is this in vogue or something? Would love to feed 'em to the local gators.
There's something not quite right about a dog smaller than a house cat.
I don't have one now. Have owned (or been owned by) two over the years. Grew up with one, which we got when I was 4 y/o. She lived 16 years. The most recent we had was from 2002 - 2014.
They seem to require quite the emotional investment, or maybe we just invest ourselves emotionally into them; they so often become a member of the family. When we had to have the most recent one euthanized, I was an emotional wreck. Love 'em, but I don't know if I'll get another.
