We revel in the Goldsmith's and Bernstein's and Horner's and Williams but there is much new music we just haven't spent as much time with. What is your favorite score of the past two years? Not an older score released for the first time in the past two years but from a movie that had been released within the past two years. Mine?

Bridge of Spies - Thomas Newman

Not an authority, because my love is older scores.

But my answer: Morricone's La Corrispondenza. Holy cow. After all these years, the man can still deliver.

For me it's probably Michael Giacchino's Doctor Strange.

I've been fortunate to receive a lot of promos over the last few years, which have provided me with insight into new scores I would probably not have discovered otherwise. There's so much great stuff out there.

Here are my top "Top 10" webcasts (in English) about 2015 and 2016:

http://celluloidtunes.no/celluloid-tunes-39-the-10-best-scores-of-2015-13th-international-edition/
http://celluloidtunes.no/celluloid-tunes-48-the-10-best-scores-of-2016-15th-international-edition/

If you don't want to listen, the "winner" for each year is:

2015: THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY (Cat's Eyes)
2016: NERVE (Rob Simonsen)

So far in 2017, I think my favourite might be GHOST IN THE SHELL (Mansell & Balfe).

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"

That's a hard question since very little impresses me anymore. If I had to pick one I would say "The Jungle Book", with "Doctor Strange" a close second.

I do not have one for the past two years.

I'd probably have to go with Ant-Man.

Moana.

(Yeah, I've listened to Force Awakens the most of anything in the last two years. But it doesn't seem fair to compare the next chapter in a forty-years-in-the-making saga with new movies, so it's in a special category of its own.)

Nocturnal Animals.

Although it definitely lost something when I checked out the composer's other recent work and heard the same Animals vibe more than once.

Gotta be Force Awakens for me, followed closely by The Jungle Book and Rogue One.
