I did read an interview recently where Jerry Goldsmith said, "What is a shame it is that I died nearly 15 years before this movie will come out. Joe Johnston's visual palate for THE SILVER CHAIR would have lent itself perfectly to my fantasy style, a mixture of LEGEND and the military strength of THE 13TH WARRIOR. A regret.". He then paid the bill at the Outback Steakhouse where the interview took place and left.
A few days back I was thinking; if Jerry Goldsmith was alive he would have done HELLBOY What a score and film that would have been. (sigh)
How about Harry Gregson-Williams back into the series?
I'd be all for that too, actually. I felt his Prince Caspian score was a big improvement overall in comparison with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (which had some positively magical themes and moments, but positively cliched and cheap-sounding Media Ventures action music).
Bust then. However, even from beyond the grave Rozsa could write a better score than anyone alive today, far better I'm sure than the movie will deserve.
(Hope I haven't triggered any J.W. fans. Let's see...).
