They kind of like hit it off and they take their masks off and they’re like… [shocked look] What the hell! They’re like the same person, but she’s just a girl. I think that’s really cool.”

Good old Ridders!
He sure knows what he's doing.
How about GLADIATOR ON THE PLANET OF THE ALIENS, with Crowe and Weaver reprising their roles?

Just read a review for ALIEN: COVENANT at Blu-ray.com. Not good. Not a surprise either.

That's what I call passion and commitment!

Holy cow, a Judge Dredd a TV series. I really hope it's good. It has the potential to be ace. Don't ignore the comics. I hope they get the tone right. It should be like Robocop or Starship Troopers. The recent Dredd film was okay but lacking in the humour dept and also far too derivative of other films and had too many cliches in it. It also needs a strong cast. I'm assuming Karl Urban won't be Dredd. I'm interested in seeing it.

I'd call it more old-age dementia.

There are a lot of reviews out on Alien: Covenant, and some gave it 2 out of 4 stars and there were other reviews that were VERY good.

You do realize negative reviews for this movie are in the minority right now, yes?

Nice attempt at twisting facts to fit your narrative however.

Not from what I see. Even the positive ones are lukewarm. Anyway, I'm skipping it. A friend of mine who's seen it does say it's better than PROMETHEUS though, so some comfort in that I guess.

UPDATE: Oh boy, is there a lot of disappointment being expressed over this movie. Here's one of the more thoughtful ones:

Agreed. We had a meeting last week and voted through the proposition: "Modern Family" is now even funnier than the "The Big Bang Theory".

Well the reviews I've read & heard seem to be about 50/50. I do get the impression that if you liked Prometheus, then you might like this, but as I thought Prometheus was total crap I'm not going to bother with this one.

Rotten Tomatoes has it listed at 75% fresh with 123 reviews counted, with an average score of 6.3/10. That's more positive than negative, regardless of how you or RoryR spin it.

A 6.3/10 is a score I'd rate as only slightly better than mediocre and not quite good. I was hoping for better, but it appears this isn't much more than just the same ol' same -- a movie I've seen before and done better. I'll wait and rent it streaming.

Well that's okay, you can enjoy it & I won't bother, & besides, a film doesn't have to have great reviews for me to want to see it. I rather fancy seeing King Arthur: The Legend Of The Sword, & that's had terrible reviews & it looks like it's going to bomb.

...& when I say see it, I usually mean buy the Blu-ray.

Just to counter the negative nellies of FSM, Matt Zoller Seitz of Roger Ebert's review site gives Alien: Covenant 4/4 stars. He says it's the best Alien movie since the first two, and concludes that the best sequences put nearly everything else done in scifi/fantasy at this budget level to shame.

Khan, I just read his review (4 out of 4 stars) yesterday at Ebert's site. It was a great review. Can't wait to see this movie, and I hope that the questions left unanswered in Prometheus will be answered. I also hope for a thrilling ride.
