I don`t know about you but I tend to buy so much soundtracks I can from the films of my favorite actors/actresses. Believe it or not Richard Kiel is one of my favorite actors. I have Tangled, The Giant of Thunder Mountain, Moonraker, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Humanoid, Silver Streak and Force Ten From Navarone. Plus that I have on order So Fine. But just a couple days after I did my latest soundtrack order I found out that The Longest Yard is now released. There are some scores from the films of Mr. Kiel that is still unreleased. Such as Pale Rider and Happy Gilmore.
Anyway I wonder does anyone else specifically "collect" the soundtracks to the films of your favorite actors/actresses?
And by the way are there anyone else wanting to get Pale Rider and Happy Gilmore released?
Never been a fan of James Bond, neither films nor music, so that's out.
From looking at his IMDB entry, there aren't really any particular scores I have a connection to. I've been meaning to check out TANGLED (Alan Menken) and SILVER STREAK (Henry Mancini), and I like PALE RIDER (the movie), but can remember very little of the score.
Isn't FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE (Ron Goodwin) a fan favourite of sorts?
I've never really collected soundtracks based on actors (since it's a rather haphazard connection), although I would agree that some actors have been fortunate to have an impressive array of composers and scores attached to their work.
Probably MOONRAKER. Someone should do a kickstarter campaign to re-record the whole score....
Heh - where do I sign up?
My favourite score for a Richard Kiel film has barely been mentioned - Morricone's The Humanoid. But for your own sake, avoid the film. It makes Star Wars look like an epic.
Force Ten from Navarone is also a classic war film score, deserving to be discussed in the same breath as his 633, Battle of Britain and WED.
Here's one for your Kiel collection: "To trap a spy". Richard Kiel as Guard (Uncredited)
A good excuse to get an excellent soundtrack and support FSM.
I'd love a release of all music from "Kolchak the nightstalker" series. That would be a Kiel contender too ("Spanish moss murder", "Bad medicine" and "Horror in the heights").
To be honest, it always struck me as daft to buy music because it's for a film with a particular actor.
Like the actor in the film is the organising principle that means the music is gonna be good.
Strange!
Well, of course it doesn't make any sense. As I said, it's a random connection.
But still -- when I look at the scores associated with the movies of, say, Sean Connery or Tom Cruise, for example, it's a pretty impressive list of music, at the very least.

eh hem Master Woolston, quick- compose a list of 3 "dud scores" of Bronson films on CD. Try the same for Claudia.
Don't forget the recent disaster of a release: "White Buffalo" by the immortal John Barry.
In no way do I believe they were organizing principle for the music in their films. I simply collect "stuff" from my two most loved actors. It's kind of cool that they are both in the greatest film of all time- with the greatest score of all time, "Once Upon a Time in the West"
