Only thing good about the J.J.'s for me was Urban as McCoy. He was brilliant. My sentiments exactly. Long Live Captain Kirk, just as long as he's not frying eggs with John Luke. Memories of SNL with Shatner and the Enterprise having been transformed into a space restaurant. Loved when Dana Carvey played Khan. Now that was hilarious. I'm beginning to think the Seth McFarland Space Comedy may be the big winner of the two. If there has to be a winner, which of course there doesn't. To each is own. I hope those who will like it, will enjoy it and for those who don't, we will always have all that has come before to re-enjoy and go back to, time and again. I wish them all luck, but I just won't be on board for a STD. Now if I can only get the Shat to make me an omelet with bacon! Between Kirk cooking breakfast, and his pathetic death scene, I have to believe Shat did the film for the soul purpose of stealing Stewart's thunder. Script could've read, "Kirk sits on toilet reading newspaper", and he would've done it.
