Besides Soundgarden and Audioslave, he penned my favorite Bond song, which perfectly captured the character in its Daniel Craig version... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnzgdBAKyJo
I knew Chris for a couple of years when our daughters were friends in school (before the Cornells moved away). Very nice guy, very involved dad (he went on all the field trips!). I had my dad with me when we picked up my daughter at Chris's daughter's birthday party, and I turned around to see my dad had cornered Chris, and he politely listened to whatever stories my dad was telling him about me as a child.

Very sad news.
Somehow, I had this feeling that you had some sort of connection to him. Weird. What a voice he had.
Soundgarden was one of my favorite bands back in the 90s and I still listen to Temple of the Dog today. I was saddened when Soundgarden broke up but I knew Chris Cornell would do good things on his own. Then came Audioslave. Another great band. The man obviously had a great voice and talent. I think I was more shocked that I found it was suicide. Was he still struggling with addictions?
Damn, what a shame. Been listening to Soundgarden since the early '90s, and we still spin 'em on the regular. Suicide?! My heart goes out to his family and friends.
