So I used to have a collector mindset, and now my massive collection of CDs and movies is more of a stressor than a pleasure. In the past I've usually sold things one at a time or in lots on eBay, sometimes doing better than others, but my sister recommended the service Decluttr, where you scan barcodes of your stuff, they make an offer, and then you can mail a bunch of it at once at their expense to them. Some of the prices seem pretty low but then, once I've accounted for shipping and eBay's cut, I usually didn't make that much off any particular item anyway, and this service seems like a good way to get rid of tons of stuff very quickly -- time is money! -- and still make a decent amount back.

Has anyone used this service? Are they fair? Do they try to pull shenanigans to cut down on their original estimates? Have you found better ways to offload lots of stuff?

Any way to use it if you can't scan in the barcodes?

It uses your phone camera to read the barcode. You can also type in the UPC if your phone's not up to the task.

Screen Archives Entertainment offers a similar service, but they limit themselves to soundtrack CDs.
