There's the matter of quantum fluctuations and virtual particles appearing everywhere all of the time.
Did the quantum flux exist at the moment of creation? Did virtual particles exist then, too? The only sense I can make of the exposed granularity in the space all around us, is that we are seeing that quantum flux under extreme magnification. If creation of virtual particles can be thrown into the mix, the picture gets even more complicated. When the Universe started to expand you'd have to have a non-uniform fireball for structure to emerge. How would you get the banding of distinct hot and cold spots in such localisation? It's like looking at the black and white patches that make up a soccer ball, if not the distinct detonation points of force we see in pictures of A-bombs on the exterior shell, before they go off, so to speak. Of course, they could also be the spots on the turtle holding the Universe 'up.'
One of the many drawbacks of fast-life is that it's difficult to read computer screen texts at the same slow pace which Granpapa would have told us the story on the porch. I sat back and read all this as if my Granpapa was readin' it to me when I was small on the porch, wide-eyed and eager to learn from people who knew. Take time to read and pònder all this good stuff, folks. Honestly, if you skip through it (I'm including Grecchus' reply and comments here too) you're doing your brain a huge disservice.
