Once again Intrada has found "GOLD" in the Columbia Pictures music vault. First with ON THE WATERFRONT a few years ago and now THE CAINE MUTINY. I hope in due time we will see such scores as: THE HARDER THEY FALL - Hugo Friedhofer

JUBAL - David Raksin

3:10 TO YUMA - George Duning

THEY CAME TO CORDURA - Elie Siegmeister

THE VIOLENT MEN - Max Steiner

By the way, although not a Columbia Picture, my most wanted Max Steiner score is now THE HANGING TREE. I hope some enterprising label can work out all the difficulties and bring this score to fruition. In the meantime , hope springs eternal.

I agree Cody. Intrada has done the impossible and located Max Steiner's THE CAINE MUTINY music tracks! Wow! Never thought I would ever have a CD to this film's music. It's a colorful score, can't wait to get it. Thanks Intrada! smile

THE HANGING TREE is also my most wanted Max Steiner score. Hopefully a label will be able to issue it.

I would buy all 5 of the Columbia scores you listed instantly! Good choices all! Let's hope more Columbia scores will be discovered.

I'm not sure that I'd call it a vault, more like a very small cupboard, containing a packet of biscuits & a box of paperclips.
