Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are no longer directing the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff.
"Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon," Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said Tuesday in a statement.
I was never a big fan of Lord and Miller untill they did THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, which I absolutely love! So that alone gave me hope for this. A shame to see them go, but I'm guessing the replacement director will add some scenes that make the general tone closer to the Kasdan script -- but still keeping some of what they shot. I doubt they can afford or are able to re-shoot everything that Lord and Miller have done up till now.
Now if there's someone who REALLY deserves a sacking, it's Colin Trevorrow for Episode 9. A more talentless hack I've rarely seen. He must have some amazing rhetorical skills to land the jobs he has.
Gee, it's comforting to know the franchise has been guarded so well by all you "skilled experts." Give me a fucking break.
And Thor, you're lucky no one judged John Williams potential on such dregs as DADDY-O. I give Trevorrow a great deal of credit for jumping from the under-a-million-dollar SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED to blockuster budgeted JURASSIC WORLD, and then going back to the modest (and IMHO quite good) THE BOOK OF HENRY.
