I agree with Kennedy as an actor, even though, I didn't know him that well for his westerns, i found his later film/works to be very good. Kennedy was in the Living Dead at Manchester Morgue, where he play's an inspector with a zero tolerance to hippies/youth, its a fine performance.
I advise you to watch his best western effort: Fritz Lang's Rancho Notorious.
