MONDAY, JULY 17

BLADE RUNNER 2049---new official trailer is released.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI---Lucasfilm released a behind-the-scenes video and synopsis of the sequel.

“In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past. Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017.”

Also, director Rian Johnson said, “Do we have some sense of what Rey wants from Luke? To me, the big enigma was what’s going on with Luke Skywalker. Why is he on that island? He knows his friends are in trouble, he knows the galaxy needs him. Why would this hero that I grew up with have put himself in exile? To me, it was like if we could crack that nut then we have something to start working with and then that will inform what their whole relationship is”.

GAME OF THRONES---trailer released for the next episode.

DUMBO---Tim Burton released a photo of the life-size, 3D model used in the live-action remake movie starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Eva Green.

PATERNO---photo released of Al Pacino as Penn State football coach Joe Paterno in the untitled HBO movie about Paterno during the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal. Riley Keough and Annie Parisse also star.

ALADDIN---Walt Disney Studios announced that Mena Massoud (JACK RYAN), Naomi Scott (POWER RANGERS) and Will Smith will star in the Guy Ritchie live-action remake of the 1992 animated movie.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING---Mark Hamill said he wanted the Vulture role, “I don’t want to jeopardize any potential roles I might have in a future Marvel film. I had my fingers crossed that Michael Keaton would turn down the Vulture but darn it. There’s not a lot of villainous roles for senior citizens so I had my eyes on the Vulture.”

THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS---Mackenzie Foy, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman star in the Walt Disney Studios movie.

THE HULK---Mark Ruffalo commented on a standalone Hulk movie, “I want to just make one thing perfectly clear today: A standalone ‘Hulk’ movie will never happen. Universal has the rights, and for some reason, they don’t know how to play well with Marvel. And, they don’t want to make money.”

Star Wars- I've really come to despise the "Jedi's". All they do is run away and hide when the times get tough. Ben, Yoda, Luke, all of them.

Blade Runner- Looks sterile and flat. The Spinners zoom around in a video-gamey way. No weight, I don't believe they're really "there".

I know there's no way this ever could have happened, but how amazing would it have been to have Julian Beck as The Vulture?

I still can't help but feel surprised that Disney had never attempted a Nutcracker film (live-action or animated) until now as one would think the story right up their alley (for the record, the Nutcracker Suite section of Fantasia does not count). I hope they do a good job with it.

That Dumbo model looks pretty creepy and only increases the misgivings I have about this live-action Dumbo.

Kinda cool if they crossed DUMBO with LAST JEDI or BLADE RUNNER. It would make perfect sense.

How would Dumbo in real life not be creepy, if you think about it?

Isn't creepy what Tim Burton is all about?

As far as Dumbo goes.... just watch the news.

A nephew of mine who is working on the new Dumbo film informed me that THIS Dumbo shoots FLAMES out of it's trunk!!! Should make for a very interesting film, IMHO.

If that is true, that certainly cements what some of us already though, which is that Disney is ruining the legacy of a classic animated film.

Had Marvel not interfered with Raimi's Spider-Man 3, we would've gotten Sir Ben Kingsley in the role.
