I guess I'd go to wherever you read that FSM was in its death throes?

My only worry if the FSM board was put to rest is the loss of all my writings over the last 20 years. I've put a lot of my creative writing into some of these posts and threads over the years, and I would at the very least hope for a warning in advance so that I could find and save the material. Other than that, I'm not too worried. Either someone would start a new board, or the membership would migrate elsewhere, like we did in 2000 when we all went over to moviemusic.com after the board was down for several months. Plus, I thankfully have other film music boards I frequent, maintitles.net being my "primary home" anyway. I've already started to copy threads and comments that I've made and contributed to over the years just in case this site ceases to exist. One thing I would advise everyone to do is to subscribe to the online Film Score Monthly magazine and to contribute articles, essays, and reviews. You can then post comments for each of the articles and reviews. JP

Has interest in film score music reached a peak and is tailing off? I don't really know. I was amazed to find FSM existed at all, back half a decade when I first experienced what it meant to be 'online.' The way I see it is something like this. Although the type of film music that I hooked into goes back some, there are always contemporary end users appearing on the scene. As the world population is going up there must always be new entrants to the genre. Having said that, there are pitifully few of us amongst the 7 billion+ human inhabitants of this planet, and in my time the entire human population presence has doubled - there's something to think about. However, as movie entertainment, on the whole, is sucked up by people like there's no tomorrow, it is the same question as the one about ET being out there. They must be, even if they are invisible.
