The forums seems to be run like a ' clique ' with someone called STEFANACOS running the show who seems to have issues with outsiders , i posted something in regards to a stupid post , and he responded with And who are you ? I responded back saying .... who are you ?, and recieved this response .

Don't you know who I am????
I"m a f****g God on this forum mate. The only reason you're on here is because I allow it!
Look at my postcount! Look how huge it is!
Any comments about this folks and your experiences with JW forums ?
First of all, you shouldn't take Stefan's posts too seriously. Most of what he posts are jokes or brief jibes. The post you refer to was obviously a joke, albeit in a very 'internal' clique style. Easy to misunderstand for outsiders.
I mainly go there for the occasional discussion about obscure Williams. There aren't many other places I can have that (perhaps FSM on a good day).
I've said this to them face-to-face many times (much to their annoyance), so I can say it here again: I was never comfortable with the general atmosphere/posting style there, nor am I still. As you say, a very "nerdish clique" with 90% meaningless banters and jibes, and 10% meaningful conversation (lots of scrolling involved!). There are very few topics there that interest me.
But I've met some of them in real life. Good folks, even if the particular online atmosphere rubs me the wrong way.
I tried to register there in 2009 to answer a question about the then-released "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" album Intrada had put out at the time.
The question was about a missing cue on the 'unmentionable' versions of the score that no one was able to pinpoint, since it was only a few seconds long. As far as I know that question remains unanswered. Oh well.
I could not register because I got some warning or whatever saying I'm not welcome and was banned....banned despite never even registering there prior to that. Guess being a Horner fan, I'm not worthy of the holier-than-thou attitudes and rude personalities I've perused over there. Only thing I go there for is to read threads about the upcoming label releases and they sometimes go into better detail about albums like the LLL Batman 89 and others, pointing out differences and so on.
Im a huge williams fan , but i hope i dont have some of the traits somne of thiose indivisuals on that forum have .
They just seem very childish , I did not know who this STEFANACOS was and they react making excuses for him saying he was onlly joking etc .... i would say know your audience before launcing in to some sort of attack .
I agree, that forum could look very strange for an outsider and it's not really easy to "connect" with some of its users. There's many great sick people in it, some users use two avatars... like if they where Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide and others just play a character.
That's very strange sometimes.
But there are also great experts of John Williams. I can't say I'm one one them, but with my discography, let's say, I have become a little expert ;-)
Come talk to me within the "Discography" dedicated threads... I don't allow too much crap there. ;-)

Yeah, I try to mentally weed out all those "childish" (or rather socially awkward "nerd" comments), and focus on the meat of the discussion instead. This is where the aforementioned mouse scrolling comes in.
