I'm not going to say what I paid for a copy of the Varese Romancing The Stone some years ago, but it was probably the highest I've gone for a CD. Then again, it was/is one of my all time favourite films growing up, and the music simply transports me to a very happy place, so if I was ever going to double-dip for a score, it would be this one. And I have! (Even though to my ears the Varese CD sounded wonderful - if it's even better now? Wow) (I will still be making a combined track of The Sailboat into the end titles for my iPod though, as before - got to have them running right into each other!)
Waterworld is a movie I've loved since I first saw it opening week in the UK, and I adore the score, so having more of that remastered is an easy call.
I've never seen either film in the Waxman set and probably never will - melodrama is not my thing at all... but I tried the samples anyway and WOW (again). So even if I've never seen the films and never will, these scores sound brilliant, so I'm in for all three of these!
