What a great jazzy and atmospheric score! I love that lonely trumpet theme evoking HOMELAND and HOUSE OF CARDS. The music sums up all the bizarre circumstances and the overall tragedy of the OJ case and makes for a really great listen.
And man, you have to admire his sheer thematic richness and diversity: Just listen to tracks like "Watts Riots", "Buffalo Baryshnikov" or "Epic Fall", to name just a few. Chamber orchestra here, just piano and cello there. That's what I call composing music.
Who is Gary Lionelli? Now I will also check out his BILLY THE KID and LAST DAYS IN VIETNAM.
To sum it up: I think the music fits like a glove. (oh well...I just had to...)
It is indeed the sound that has "made" Jeff Russo's career, in particular. I must admit that it's growing somewhat thin now, though. I feel like I hear it everywhere.
All that being said, O.J.: MADE IN AMERICA is a great documentary!
