I enjoy this film, it's one of the best of 1993! It's also one of only three action films I can think of that received a Best Picture Oscar nomination, the other two are RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and MAD MAX: FURY ROAD! What do you guys think of THE FUGITIVE? I'm going to get the Blu-ray one of these days.

I liked it a lot. And the JNH score.

Gerard considers Kimble to be a cold blooded killer. But his opinion evolves as the story progresses. The tough cop with a conscience. The scene below with Kimble scribbling changes on the medical chart and conversing with the ailing child on the stretcher changes everything. It's a memorable scene with Ford at his zenith. "Check the film".

Harrison Ford may have been the star of this movie but IMHO Tommy Lee Jones stole the show here. Jones was brilliant in the film and deserved the BSA Oscar he won for his performance as Gerard.

The tough cop with a conscience.

"I don't care."

Some conscience.

Nothing says "I care" more than firing several rounds at your unarmed quarry as they flee from you.

Hey, how would that work for a greeting card?

All snark aside, an awesome movie! Ford and Jones were perfect in their roles. JNH did a wonderful job with the score, even if it did sound Goldsmith-inspired.

Easily the best remake of a TV show ever made. It works in every way from story to performances, through direction and finally music. I saw this a few times in the theater. It's a great action film as well as a fine mystery. Ford does a lot with a little and Jones is at his best. Andrew Davis seemed to be on the cusp of greatness. But it seems this film was just that lightning in a bottle that he could never capture again.

US MARSHALS is actually not a bad film, and the only follow up to this would have to focus on Gerard, but it was too busy remaking the original instead of going in another direction. Great Jerry Goldsmith score, though.

However, The Fugitive stands on its own as a wonderful film and one of my all time favorites.

It coud have so many reasons for me not to like this film (90s rehashing an old TV-pilot being the foremost of them) but I am happy to say that this still is a very solid and entertaining film that could be considered super condensed summary of the TV-series without the negatives of the TV-series, that plagued all those "road movie series", such as "the Hulk" and many others, that is the going to a new place making new friends and leaving them and the end of the episode.

The spin off "US marshals" is even more entertaining and makes for a very solid duo pack.

"Fugitive" shows what the "Lost in space" film could have been if it had not made the few mistakes it did. I really like the LiS film though and together with the fugitive, I consider them very sincere new releases based on popular 60s franchise, a very ver BIG lesson could be learned from both when I see all the awful insulting "hipsters at the helm" kack that has been released since with their infantile crude, vulgar infantile "humor".

Agreed, I like the LiS film a hell of a lot, warts and all. It was a very respectful and sincere attempt to capture nearly every version of that series; the deadly serious opening episodes, the more sentimental and monster oriented tales, the comedy and the creepy low-wattage scares that they could get away with back in the day. Honestly, the only real complaint I have about it (other than a few duds when it came to casting and some shitty even at the time CGI creature work) was that they tried too hard. It was too crammed with stuff, and they lost the focus. But after a slow middle section, the last half hour comes to life and the escape through the planet sequence is thrilling, in no small part to Bruce Broughton's amazing score.
