Yeah, they probably want something cheaper, more modern. It wouldn't' shock me at all if they get somebody from the general vicinity of Zimmer; that's all it seems to take to get a scoring job these days, just being near him for a bit. I'd love to hear him on one of Seth MacFarlane's animated shows.

Damn, that really sucks. He's a cool guy, told some funny stories at Fans of Film Music a couple years back

Sing along -- I called it the Clausencutters song! "Who controls music field, Richard Sakai does. Who keeps the music budget down, Richard Sakai doooes, FOX doooeeesss. Who wants scoring like from a cellphone app, Who keeps "Firefly" in the back, FOX does, FOX doooeeesss." I see he was a producer on "The Critic". Here's a quote for ya, Rich': it stinks!.

That's very unfortunate and like Jason said he was just a wonderful funny funny guy at Fans Of Film Music from a couple years ago. Was lucky enough to attend one of those special Halloween episodes when they were recording at The Bridge. The music was just great. Was able to take our dear friend Bill Begley who passed away a year and a half ago. GOOD memories all around.

Ah well. At least he had a good run. Few get to score a tv show with an orchestra for nearly three decades. Yes. Hard to complain about a 27 year gig! Well, hard to complain about a 27-year gig...unless you're the one canned. He had a nice run, and it's something to be very pleased about, but fired after 27 years of service? Pretty shitty move by the producer, I think.
