Williams is very politic, always. But he wrote and rewrote and rewrote the "Force Awakens" score many times, and was quite exhausted by the end. This according to several people directly involved. I'm not saying he disliked the people, or the results, but it's not the way he was used to working.

Thanks for posting that. He has always been carefully political in public but he's been much more that that about the process here, but I'm not doubting your sources. I can easily imagine he has the clout to make changes to the working relationship if he needs to. I thought it was his idea to score and record in sections as they were completed in any case.

    This brings to mind something I thought I'd never imagine: a rejected Star Wars score. Disneyfilm is already in that mode concerning directors. Can you imagine the furor? It would consume this forum for... SEVERAL MINUTES! My god, the number of ***** given.
