Gradually, over the years, 'Pumpkin-Spice' has crept into everything, seemingly everything that's edible or drinkable in The U.S., during this time of year. Wondering if this taste obsession is also in Europe and, or, The U.K., which everyone knows is no longer part of Europe, but is leased to France.

That's been my complain, too. And it smells awful if you walk by it.

Just these passed couple weeks I've seen:
  • Pumpkin-spice flavored Cheerios.
  • Pumpkin-spice flavored doughnuts.
  • Pumpkin-spice flavored drinks.
  • Pumpkin-spice flavored candy.
  • Pumpkin-spice flavored cake mix.

And other products where it's just pumpkin flavored. I'm in the U.S.

I even wrote a "South Park" fan fiction about it: "Something Pumpkin Spice This Way Comes":

All I know is that Trader Joe's seasonal Pumpkin spice/seed salad is delightful.

Not that I've noticed, Dave, but I expect it's only a matter of time. And there's clearly been a misunderstanding about the European situation. We voted to allow Europe into the British Empire, and now all the 27 countries have to vote one by one to join us. Germany next!

My wife and I recently enjoyed a nice cold pumpkin spice latte at Dunkin' Donuts during the very uncomfortable period of the power outage in south Florida, owing to hurricane Irma.
And being in south Florida (with hardly anything that can be considered Autumn seasonally) the very image of the pumpkin inspires thoughts of change, and Halloween too!
But for sure the pumpkin spice bandwagon is getting a bit crowded.

Pumpkin-Spice anything doesn't sound very appetizing to me.

Even more. Pumpkin-spice flavored doughnut holes. I saw something else as well, but don't recall what.

Living In New England puts you smack in the middle of everything pumpkin scented on the day after Labor Day. Fall may not have begun here until 9/22/17 at 4:02 pm EST but pumpkins took over on 9/5/17. Every store and restaurant smells of Pumpkin Spice. Perhaps having the original Yankee Candle a few towns away is the reason.

On a side note, a FB friend had joked that Pumpkin Spice had become a true Southern thing this time of year. I passed off the comment as silly until a friend who lives down South told me that one of the first things she did after cleaning up after Irma was get her supply of Pumpkin spice candles and hand them out to her family and friends. This gave me a chuckle.
