It's an article in today's, (9/22/17) Variety. To come out next Spring, this re-make will star the two actors and be Directed by Bradley Cooper. My brain is hurting imagining how this might turn out. Andrew Dice Clay will be co-starring. The only way I'd see this film would be if there was some sort of 'twist' in the storytelling. Like, HIS musical career eclipses hers, and SHE dies.

My brain is hurting imagining how this might turn out. I had always hoped that the Streisand version had killed the story once and for all.

"I would have two questions. Can Cooper sing? Maybe he is a record producer instead of a singer. My other question would be can Lady Gaga act? Even with my questions, I am looking forward to the movie. Cooper is a good actor. Lady Gaga for all of her eccentricities has a marvelous singing voice. This may be a fine movie." *** Gaga also has some acting chops, demonstrated IMHO in the sketches in which she appeared when she hosted Saturday Night Live. That doesn't necessarily mean she's ready to play Hamlet, but it's enough to make me willing to suspend critical judgments until her movie comes out -- if it's ever shot.

This will be the third time they've made a film of this, yes? Fourth, actually: 1937, with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March 1954, with Judy Garland and James Mason 1976, with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson Seems strange they would do it again. Given how frequently it gets made, I'd say it seems stranger that we're only now getting a fourth version. With the previous three spaced at roughly twenty-year intervals, one might think there'd been a telling in the 1990s, and that we'd get the fifth version now, not merely the fourth. Sounds like a vehicle for Gaga much like The Bodyguard was for Houston. Indeed, and much like the last couple versions of this were vehicles for Streisand and Garland (which seems reasonable to me, honestly).

TCM's running a marathon in December, I think. Can't figure out their website. Help. http://www.tcm.com/this-month/article/1351915%7C0/A-Star-is-Born.html

Edw n huey, ood to see you two posting. I think you can safely say gaga will do a competent job, shes been surprisingly good in american horror. When the dvd comes out, you two could have a facetime and watch the film together. With popcorn.
