1922---Netflix trailer released for the movie based on the Stephen King novella.

TERMINATOR 6---Arnold Schwarzenegger said the new movie will be a sequel to TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT Day and that it ignores TERMINATOR GENISYS. Schwarzenegger confirmed that he and Linda Hamilton are returning, but Robert Patrick is not returning.

JAMES BOND---Daniel Craig reportedly wants Denis Villeneuve (ARRIVAL, BLADE RUNNER 2049) to direct the 25th Bond movie.

STAR WARS---director Peyton Reed (ANT-MAN AND THE WASP) tweeted that he wants Lucasfilm to release the original 1977 movie on Blu-ray,

"Dear Lucasfilm,

Please release a Blu-ray of the original, unmessed-with version of STAR WARS I loved when I was 13.

Thanks,

Peyton"

Also, Ian McDiarmid commented on possibly returning as Emperor Palpatine, “I suppose there must be a chance but I think you’d find out about it more quickly than I would. As far as the new films are concerned, I’m dead. There is no question about that. But there is what they call the anthology series and actually the most recent one, Rogue One, was about the time when I was in charge. I was referred to a few times, Darth Vader popped up, but you did not see me. Maybe they are keeping me as a surprise for later but I have no idea. Of course, I don’t want anyone else to play him.”

JUSTICE LEAGUE---Joss Whedon has reportedly deleted the scenes of Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Iris West (Kiersey Clemons).

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY---the new series scored an impressive 76/100 on Metacritic and set a new record for CBS All Access single-day subscription sign-ups by surpassing the 2017 Grammy Awards.

BLAZING SADDLES---Mel Brooks was asked which of his movies could be made today. Brooks replied, "maybe a few" including YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, but BLAZING SADDLES could not be made today, “Never BLAZING SADDLES, because we have become stupidly politically correct, which is the death of comedy. It’s okay not to hurt feelings of various tribes and groups. However, it’s not good for comedy. Comedy has to walk a thin line, take risks. Comedy is the lecherous little elf whispering into the king’s ear, always telling the truth about human behavior.”

THE WALKING DEAD---showrunner Scott M. Gimple said the Old Man Rick will be explained around the Season 8 midseason finale, “I will say that we won’t know exactly what that’s about after the first episode. But we will know it about halfway through the season. We won’t quite know what it’s about, and then we’ll get an answer to that about halfway through. It’s something that’s going to play out.” Heath won't be back in Season 8, “Not a huge chance. But we definitely have not seen the last of Heath, period. I will say that. I don’t mean to disappoint the Heathies. He will be on the show. He will be within THE WALKING DEAD again.”

THE X-FILES---Chris Carter said Karin Konoval, who appeared as the mutant-breeding amputee in the controversial 1996 "Home" episode, is returning for Season 11 in multiple roles, “While Karen Konoval won’t be reprising her role as the mother-under-the-bed in the fan-favorite episode ‘Home,’ she will be returning in a tour-de-force performance in an early episode. Or, more accurately – performances.”

CHUCK---Zachary Levi commented on a movie based on the NBC series, “I’d love to do it. As far as I know, I’m the only person who’s affiliated with the show that’s been trying to make it happen on some level. I’ve had meetings with various people. There’s just so many moving parts. The answer is I’d love to still make it happen, even if it’s 10 years down the line. Because of the world, it could still be plausible. It’s just difficult. Warner Bros. has the rights to it, I don’t have a script. And in order to get the rights, I need to probably get a script, but in order to get the script, I need to pay a writer, but if I’ve got to find the money then in order to get the money, I need to make sure I have the rights. It’s like a Catch-44. [Laughs] I went to the whole cast years ago and said, “If I ever get a movie together, would you do it?” And everyone was like, “We’re totally in.” A lot of people have asked if we could do another season and there’s no way we could do another season. But I think that CHUCK as a premise totally works to go do movies here and there."

MANIAC COP---Larry Cohen (Q: THE WINGED SERPENT, IT'S ALIVE) commented on the Nicolas winding Refn remake of his 1988 horror movie, “As far as I know, that’s not happening anymore, and if it is, they might be trying to keep it a secret, as they’d owe me $250,000…”
Cohen said about the remake's script, “Ed Brubaker wrote the script, and I’ve read the script, and it’s not very good. Ed Brubaker is a very good writer of comic books, I think. But if he’s written a good script for a movie, I haven’t read it. I wrote six new scenes for the picture, based on what I’d read. And, had I written the whole script, the movie would probably be happening, as the script would be good. I wrote three films for Bill Lustig, though they changed a lot of [MANIAC COP III: BADGE OF SILENCE] and Bill got fired from it…and I would’ve written the fourth movie, had they asked. But they didn’t, and now it’s not getting made.”
He described the remake, “… It’s a lot like that Bob Hoskins movie [Neil Jordan’s Mona Lisa (’86)], where he’s driving prostitutes around and then waiting out in the car while they do their business in hotels with the Johns. It’s a direct lift from that, and then turns into a new Maniac Cop…”

I always wanted to like Chuck, but it was just never very engaging for me. I finally gave up.
