STAR TREK: DISCOVERY---spoiler alert (see below).

STAR WARS: EPISODE V-THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK---Mark Hamill explained how the sequel's big secret remained a secret, “They kept that line secret: ‘I am your father.’” What was in the script was already a fantastic twist. Vader says [in Darth Vader voice], ‘You don’t know the truth. Obi-Wan killed your father.’ And I played it just as you see it. ‘No!’ and all that. But [prior to shooting] they pulled me aside and [Irvin] Kershner, the director, said, ‘Look, I’m going to tell you something. George knows, I know, and when I tell you, you’ll be the third person that knows. So if it leaks, we’ll know it’s you.’”

THE WALKING DEAD---showrunner Dave Erickson said Negan can use the f-word in Season 8, “You get a specific number of curse words you can say, and then there’s a list of what you can and can’t do. I think it was our script coordinator who told me there was an email had come up; there had been a memo saying we could now say “f**k” twice over the course of an entire season. I don’t know at what point AMC corporate decided to allow it, but they did.”

THE DARK TOWER---Stephen King commented on the movie's failure, “The major challenge was to do a film based on a series of books that’s really long, about 3,000 pages. The other part of it was the decision to do a PG-13 feature adaptation of books that are extremely violent and deal with violent behavior in a fairly graphic way. That was something that had to be overcome, although I’ve gotta say, I thought [screenwriter] Akiva Goldsman did a terrific job in taking a central part of the book and turning it into what I thought was a pretty good movie. The TV series they’re developing now … we’ll see what happens with that. It would be like a complete reboot, so we’ll just have to see.”

DIE IN A GUNFIGHT---action romance movie inspired by ROMEO AND JULIET set in a world of corporate espionage and revenge. Kaya Scodelario, Josh Hutcherson, Helen Hunt and Olivia Munn star.

THE LAST LAUGH---Richard Dreyfuss, Chevy Chase and Andie MacDowell star in this comedy movie about a retired talent manager who reunites with his former client who passed on a promising career as a standup comic to start a family.

THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS---Kyle MacLachlan, Cate Blanchett and Jack Black star in this movie based on the fantasy novel.

AVENUE 5---HBO/Armando Ianucci (VEEP) sci fi comedy pilot set onboard a spaceship in the future.

UNDERWORLD---Len Wiseman commented on the tv series underway based on his werewolf vs. vampire movie franchise, “The series will be a pretty big departure from the films. I don’t want to say it’s more adult, but it’s definitely less comic book in its tone and character.”

BIGGER---Julianne Hough stars in this biomovie about brothers Ben and Joe Weider who started the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition.

CYRANO THE MOOR---David Oyelowo (SELMA) stars in this Walt Disney Pictures musical that is inspired by OTHELLO and CYRANO de BERGERAC.

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY---in a question and answer session, producer Alex Kurtzman was asked if Captain Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) is really dead.

Q: "So Georgiou is really dead, right? You’re not pulling a Jon Snow on us?"
A: "Here’s what I will say: Yes, 100 percent, she’s really dead. That being said, have patience with us."

Also, Michael Dorn said he was in talks to play Worf's ancestor before Bryan Fuller departed and that Fuller's Klingons looked a lot different than the actual ones in DISCOVERY, "...Bryan Fuller's Klingons were very different."

And a wonderful footnote. When they had the first cast screening Harrison Ford leaned over to Mark Hamill and said, "You never told me this". (Paraphrasing)

Allowing two eff words in The Walking Dead won't make the writing or show running better. But it'll make them feel "cooler". Adding more swearing will add nothing to it.
