The only thing I really don't like about the film's look is that annoying goose (or duck?) down flying everywhere. It gets in the actors' faces in a few parts.

When it comes to sound I think the best part of the film is Darkness' deep voice perfectly matched with Tim Curry's performance.

Shouldn't this be on the other side?

I've never seen the whole thing. I just had a quick hunt on YouTube for Bryan Ferry's 'Is Your Love Strong Enough?' The publishers have crushed all instances there:

But some give it more leeway because of the director involved. People wouldn't be so kind if it was directed by a nobody.

uh, what? it's the style with which it's directed that people like. and the touch, and the detail, and the particle effects, and the dreaminess, and all the other aspects of his design.

And it all looks incredibly fake.

Which is no surprise as it was all soundstage.
I have to be in a specific mood to watch it.

I always liked the Ferry song. Completely "Avalonesque". Plus, if memory serves, I think it has Davey G on groovy guitar.

I reckon the makers were taking aim at all the "Risky Business" fans when TD was tapped--though I have no proof of this.
But, clearly, lightning did not strike twice.

you were implicating that people's appreciation for the film was fake, brought on by the name of the director, which is ridiculous. i am not beholden to ridley scott, or devoted to him, but his work - sometimes - has an affect on me, and on a lot of people, which is how he became such a big name, not the other way around. i'm not debating your opinion on the film, i'm pointing out that you're being petty and irrational about those who see it differently.

LEGEND is a drop-dead gorgeous film. So many frames I just want to hang on my wall. Sometimes, I really couldn't care less about predictable or shallow narratives; hammy performances or campy situations. I just want to marvel at the visual (and aural) artpiece in front me. LEGEND is such a film.

No, I was saying I couldn't appreciate the visuals because it all looked so fake. Maybe if I viewed it as a stage play instead of a motion picture I'd feel differently about it.

It's unofficial.

How do I watch Legend? It would have to be with electrodes attached to my genitals and matchsticks under my fingernails, because no way would I ever watch it again voluntarily - it's an awful movie.

Never seen it, and your description appears to vindicate my position. I’m sure I’ve heard one or more versions of the score but clearly haven’t found it or them memorable enough to care one way or the other.

http://www.runmovies.eu/the-musics-for-legend/

Watched the movie in France with his ORIGINAL score the Trangerine Dream's one was composed for commercial reasons not an artistic choice, i think Jerry Goldsmith's music is a great part of the magic , the real sound of this Legend.

It's an article telling the 3 points of view.
Good read.
