And now I keep seeing women "come forward" to announce that they were victims of workplace abuse, but protect the abusers' names. These women want public sympathy, but they won't lift a finger to protect women who are next in line for their abuser's attention. Exactly! Anybody read anything from Joss Whedon's ex-wife's letter she put online a short while ago? He's apparently one of them. Yet people will still praise him and go see the "Justice League" movie.

I'm not sure I'm understanding some of what is being reported. If some of these women were paid to keep quiet in the past why do they get to come forward now? As greasy as it is, did they not make a deal? Do they have to return the money? I'm a little confused. If you coerce somebody into silence by paying them off, that's a Federal crime -- it's called extortion. And even if it falls into some gray area and isn't or isn't technically extortion, so what? Deal or no deal, as a human being you have the moral right to do the ethical thing, even if you put it off for some time.

Well, that's not the same as you wrote. Your first post suggested getting paid off and now you are saying you were talking about women asking to be paid off. Either way, it still doesn't matter. They still need to do the right thing, even if they didn't do it right away. Money (or gifts, or promotions, or anything else) doesn't change what is right and wrong here.

Ah, yes you did: Quote: If some of these women were paid to keep quiet in the past why do they get to come forward now? Again, suggesting they were paid off.

I'm sorry you were confused by what you wrote; don't blame me for understanding what you actually wrote. And once again you're changing it. Now you're saying you were referring to what news stories reported. Can you stick to something or at least better express yourself? And here's where you said women asked for money: For example, have any of the women said they were paid X amount of dollars and now they are going to throw it back in Weinstein's face (or something to that effect)? Referring to specific incidents, you also said above that part of the quote. This was you correction to me, remember. I'm not trying to bully you, but you seem really, really, really confused here.
