I'm sorry you were confused by what you wrote; don't blame me for understanding what you actually wrote.
And once again you're changing it. Now you're saying you were referring to what news stories reported. Can you stick to something or at least better express yourself?
And here's where you said women asked for money:
For example, have any of the women said they were paid X amount of dollars and now they are going to throw it back in Weinstein's face (or something to that effect)?
Referring to specific incidents, you also said above that part of the quote. This was you correction to me, remember.
I'm not trying to bully you, but you seem really, really, really confused here.

Justin, if you can't approach the topic without getting rude then a discussion will not be possible and it will probably be shut down.
Your responses have not addressed my specific questions and you've put words in my mouth that I didn't say.
To use your reasoning, don't blame me for your misunderstanding of what I wrote.
I appreciate your strong feelings about the topic. It is a difficult situation, certainly.
But if it can't be approached with more dispassion, then a back and forth with you is pointless.

I think sometimes we misunderstand the word VULNERABILITY when discussing these issues. I think we also don’t understand the fact that BOTH young women AND young men can be sexually harassed when they are most vulnerable.

Of course, I wish that NO person would take a payoff to keep his or her mouth shut about being sexually harassed. Such actions only enable the creepoids to continue their reprehensible behaviors. Young people who may be starving potential actors who want to climb the Hollywood Movie Ladder or starving financiers who want to climb the Corporate Ladder are too often subjected to unwanted sexual advances that may go beyond harassment up to required sexual encounters if they want to take that first step up those ladders. I want them to just say NO! I want them to report such behaviors, but we are not those starving young people who are so desperate for those jobs and are so vulnerable. I’m not sure that we are really able to empathize with their desperation and too often, their silence.

Maybe these current incidents will empower young men and women to say, “We don’t have to put up with any kind of sexual harassment.” Maybe they will be empowered enough to risk the possibility of never getting hired by speaking out against cretins who abuse their power, but I understand the difficulty of speaking out as well as the consequences of silence and enabling.

Thank you, Joan, excellent post!
Not to be pessimistic, but sadly, until people in power have more to fear than to gain from such behavior, will positive change come quickly?
Hollywood has gone relatively unchanged and unchallenged in this sort of thing for virtually its entire existence.

heard a liberal talk show host criticizing Weinstein for the "troubling lack of diversity" in his victims.
That's right, he complained that there were no 'women of color' included in his prey, only white women!

Anybody read anything from Joss Whedon's ex-wife's letter she put online a short while ago? He's apparently one of them. Yet people will still praise him and go see the "Justice League" movie.

Thanks. I just found it at thewrap.com and it's pretty interesting.

Shocking! Nasty letter from an Ex. wink Wait, I thought Whedon was a feminist? Just goes to show you all men are scum.

Whoa, what a minute! Did you just not defend your boy a couple weeks ago for his sexist-rude-pig scum comment about Gal Gadot- as "just being a guy"" and that he was NOT sexist or scum. One thing right about-All men are scum.
