THE SNOWMAN---the serial killer movie starring Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson and JK Simmons has received dismal reviews with a 34/100 Metacritic rating and a 26% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Director Toma Alfredson (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) attributed the poor reviews to the movie's rushed production, “It happened very abruptly. Suddenly we got notice that we had the money and could start the shoot in London. Our shoot time in Norway was way too short, we didn’t get the whole story with us and when we started cutting we discovered that a lot was missing.”
He added that 10-15% of the script had not been written when filming began, “It’s like when you’re making a big jigsaw puzzle and a few pieces are missing so you don’t see the whole picture.”

VIVIEN---Vivien Leigh biomovie underway based on the biography VIVIEN LEIGH: A BIOGRAPHY which focuses on her career, her marriage to Laurence Olivier and her afflictions with tuberculosis and bipolar disorder. Michael Zam and Jaffe Cohen (FEUD: BETTE AND JOAN) will write the script.

FREDDY VS. JASON---Robert Englund commented on if he might return as Freddy Kreuger, “I’m too old to do another Freddy now. If I do a fight scene now it’s got to be real minimal because I can’t snap my head for eight different takes and different angles. My spine gets sore. I can still be mean and scary, but I’m mostly relegated now to sort of Van Helsing roles, old doctors and sh*t. So it’s fun that the last moment of me ever playing Freddy is a wink to the audience.”

HORROR---untitled horror tv series underway with Alfonso Cuaron (GRAVITY) as writer/director/producer. Casey Affleck will star and is the co-producer. No plot details were released.

SALVATION---CBS renewed the series for Season 2.

THE SIMPSONS---a documentary, SPRINGFIELD OF DREAMS, to honor the 25th anniversary of the "Homer at Bat" episode will air on October 22.

ELI---horror movie underway about a young boy, suffering from a rare disease, becomes a patient at a secluded clinic which is haunted. Ciaran Foy (SINISTER 2) is the director.

67 SHOTS---movie underway based on the 1970 Kent State shootings in which Ohio National Guardsmen fired 67 shots into a crowd of student demonstrators which killed four of them. Jay Roach (GAME CHANGE) is the director.

AMERICAN CHOPPER---Discovery is developing a sequel to the reality series about a family-run manufacturer of chopper-style motorcycles.

"Homer at Bat" is a painful episode. It's probably entertaining for sports fans, but damn does it lack any drive whatsoever.
