To those of you who have all previous incarnations of it and back in stock next month at La La Land, is Empire of the Sun worth the upgrade?

Yes it is worth the upgrade if you really like this score. Empire of the Sun was not my favorite from JW. LLL did a wonderful job like they always do.

'Empire of the Sun' is my favorite film of all-time, and the score is obviously, right up there as well. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something here though. I bought the LaLaLand 2 Disc Empire, I don't know when, but it seems recently. (a year or two ago?) Are you saying they're coming back with an 'improved', or, 'upgraded' version? Now?

No it was just out of stock for a few months. We have more coming in sometime in November

I haven't even seen the movie, but the C&C is a worthwhile to own & listen to.

I never had the OST, but I can certainly give the thumbs up to the LLLR release.

From sound quality to artwork, superb in every respect.

It's my favourite LLL John Williams release, but I haven't received my E.T. or Jurassic Park yet. wink

For me, if you loved the film's music - it's nice to have the extended version of Suo Guan from the opening of the film. Cadillac of the Skies is an amazing piece too, and I love having the alternate - if I recall there's a brief moment where the recording pops slightly, but it's still a great thing to be able to hear an alternate take on this great piece.

Unequivocally, yes.
