It's a lovely piece. McCarthy's work on the film is underrated.

Agreed, it's one of my favorite scores of the film series, and certainly my favorite of the Next Gen films. Really a lovely piece of work.

Beautiful. It has always been a favorite piece of mine. Thanks for posting, Ford.

Gorgeous. This really is an underrated score, with a rousing theme, longing interludes like this, and a monster of a cue in "Kirk Saves the Day."

To me, after many listens.. It seems that starting with the Nexus..onward...It sounds like a different composer. Everything before hand was this miss match mombo jumbo of nothingness...Then a new composer or the director lite a fire underneath McCarthy's ass. Lol

From the beautiful Nexus and Two Captains meeting...It is well done and awe inspiring. Like two entirely different composers, are at play here. And how did that puny rocket reach that star in mere seconds and Blow it Up? Lol

Great version of a lovely cue. The piano part really enhances it!

Ford: Is this actually the original soundtrack recording, with piano added? It sounds like that to me (especially the choir).

I enjoy this album a lot, as I have with a number of these BSX compilations. This is a particularly strong piece. I've always assumed Dennis is playing to his own samples of choir and strings here, which may have been the same as used in the film.
