The look also lives on in Ricky from Trailer Park Boys.
But anyway... YES, Norm is a genius! Back in 2006 (I think) he had an album called "Ridiculous". It kept me and The Missus gasping for air more times than I can count.
Norm MacDonald is one of my personal favorite comedians (others include: Brian Posehn and Robert Schimmel).
Some of my favorites pieces of humor from Norm:
He used to be a cast member on SNL (back when the show was funny) and did the "Fake News" segments. He got fired about three years in. He's talked about it some over the years and basically the late Don Olhmeyer called him into his officer, gave a bunch of weird sports analogies, and said he wasn't funny and fired him, even though Norm was widely considered the best thing going for the show at the time. Then a year or two later he was asked back to host the show. And that's when he did this LIVE (the audio has been censored): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofXxinOtPiQ
Then he did a long bit on Conan O'Brien's show that, thankfully, didn't stop; he stayed there as Courtney Thorne Smith came up next to be interviewed, creating a legendary Conan episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywpHcLhSbXA
The first Dennis Miller clip that Justin linked to is probably my favorite interview of all time ever. Back at the time that Miller had that show we would tape it and that one got re-watched so much it was insane. I wish the whole segment was up on the Youtube--it deserves to be seen complete for posterity. Norm went into a little bit about the canning for too many OJ jokes and whatnot. I love how relatively subdued Spade is while Norm riffs and never saw the Pearl Harbor heading his way. And then Norm brings it back home at the 4:50 mark with utter perfection.
