I'd avoided this thread until now, thinking it was going to be Buffy-related (and the "not" was the hook). Anyway, my earth-shattering answer to the question is....
I don't know. Even The Spice Girls have/had talented musical directors behind the scenes. Maybe it's one of their pieces. It does sound very influenced - especially in the middle part - by Morricone's ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA. You can hear it best in the more orchestral take in the first video, starting at around the 30-second mark, but especially when it reaches a peak around the 1-minute mark.
I really agree with Graham. The first part in the first video really sounds a lot like ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA. It is a lovely piece. Maybe it was specifically written for The Spice Girls, but it sure sounds like Morricone.
Haha, I felt like I had to specify that it was not Buffy related cause I think most people are sick of me and assume that's all I can talk about and therefore wont open the thread! It's understandable though
Thanks for you answers! I will definitely check out that OUAT score then!
Love this little piece and was hoping they had sampled/borrowed it from somewhere.
