Was the OST of Eye of the Needle released? I don't think I would have missed that…

Varese released twice its re-recording, but there's a boot floating around and a bluray with ISO score.

There’s been a terrible-sounding bootleg of the OST for years, and now there’s one taken from the isolated score channels on the Twilight Time Blu-ray. As you can imagine, it sounds great but, as TT had access only to the U.S. cut of the film, which is slightly shorter, there’s some music missing from the finale. Only the old, horrible-sounding boot is the complete score.

I suspect has the soundtrack album rights to this title for good and if anyone is going to put it out it would have to be them.

So perhaps a nice note to Robert Townson would be in order to perhaps suggest that this would be a good title to do.

I've really got my eyes on the blu ray from Screen Archives. I'm so close to buying, especially with the reportedly good sound from the isolation track.

Intrada confirmed this many years ago when they released the film recording of Last Embrace, which had also only had a Varese re-recorded album previously. Someone inquired if they could do Eye of the Needle as a follow up and Roger answered that while Varese's license for Last Embrace did not include perpetuity rights to the film recording, their arrangement for Eye of the Needle *did* make it so no one else but them could release it.

So perhaps a nice note to Robert Townson would be in order to perhaps suggest that this would be a good title to do.

Well some months back I made a comment to that effect on a Rozsa Facebook post he made, and he liked my comment...I wouldn't read too much into it but I'm sure he was aware of the interest before I said anything. I just hope it happens. They should have just done a Deluxe Edition with both recordings a few years ago rather than simply an Encore Edition of their album recording.

Being that I'm becoming really interested in Rozsa's output, I'm thinking about putting both the EOTN Blu-ray and Last Embrace cd in my SAE cart. I'd be buying LE blind...which has worked to my delighted advantage each time I tried it (J. Edgar Hoover, Knights, Rozsa Conducts Rozsa, Backround to Violence).

I've seen the movie EOTN and liked it (the book was significantly better imo), but that good-sounding isolated score track is making it especially irresistible!

I agree the movie's not bad at all, which is why the Blu-ray is definitely worth getting for the isolated score. But hopefully we get a CD release too, one of these days.
