Abrams was allowed to see more than "a couple of nanoseconds of a trailer".) The only things that matter regarding this topic are; whether the movie, and Hamill's performance in it, are any good. We shall see in December. However, I don't think Hamill would ever be nominated for an Oscar, regardless of how good his performance is, simply because it's sci-fi/fantasy and it's... Mark Hamill. Being serious, I think he stands a good chance with his services to SW. & it being an anniversary, maybe its time. I've never had a problem with his performance in the film. When it got to Empire I started to see his weaknesses in some areas. Jedi was gawd awful, but I blame the director for that. Was that Sith Lightning coming out of the Ark? The Nazis might have folded at the onslaught, but not our Luke.
