A director saying so-and-so should get an Oscar is just good film PR.

But of course. wink Though anything is possible.

True - maybe the electoral college will hand him the award.

"Could Mark Hamill win an Oscar for THE LAST JEDI?"

"LOL. Funniest thread title of the month!"

Yep, this thread is a keeper.

Gleaning "acting chops" from a couple of nanoseconds of a trailer is my favorite part.

Gees, tough board.

Eh, don't pay any attention to them, henry. (I'm sure J.J. Abrams was allowed to see more than "a couple of nanoseconds of a trailer".) The only things that matter regarding this topic are; whether the movie, and Hamill's performance in it, are any good. We shall see in December. However, I don't think Hamill would ever be nominated for an Oscar, regardless of how good his performance is, simply because it's sci-fi/fantasy and it's... Star Wars

Well if you go by THE FORCE AWAKENS a couple of nanoseconds was a good chunk of his performance in the film.wink

"Touched me, he did. Fondled me, he did."

That would be one weird deposition.... embarrassment

Hamill could win it -- you just have to let him play all parts.

Use the FORCE, Luke.. & your winner is.. drum-roll.. Mark Hamill. wink

Being serious, I think he stands a good chance with his services to SW. & it being an anniversary, maybe its time.

If Mark doesn't win they could very well award him an honorary to movies, SW, its still classed as an Oscar.

Hamill has typically been a deeply terrible actor.

Not so deeply that you yourself would have to reach up to touch his morning bowel movement, but you know...

So that's how fans of something/someone polish a turd.

Hamill's naive worked to his advantage in Star Wars because it fitted his character perfectly. I've never had a problem with his performance in the film. When it got to Empire I started to see his weaknesses in some areas. Jedi was gawd awful, but I blame the director for that. Because everyone's acting was awful in Jedi.

Yes, well, we've taken a rag and some Windex to your posts and we still can't make that work either. wink

If you're going to direct your criticism at me instead of the subject at hand, okay, I wont beat around the bush. Lehah is an asshole. I deeply apologize and regret if that's old news. wink

I seem to recall there was an Indie/Belloq piece of dialog in Raiders where Belloq is saying to Indie (Solo?) they are very much alike and that it would take a nudge to push Indie (Solo??) onto Belloq's side of the divide (howler of a Force quip), whatever that may Be. Was that Sith Lightning coming out of the Ark?

The Nazis might have folded at the onslaught, but not our Luke. He has the last word.

If the Academy thought I was mad at them for snubbing Tippi Hedren for The Birds; they best give it to Mark!

big grin
