Whoever bought FSM ad space sure got their money's worth, as the seminar itself ended back on October 4th, yet the ad still proudly, absentmindedly runs without fail (minus those frequent board collapses) well over a month later.

Did anyone here attend the Alan Meyerson Score Mixing Seminar? What did you learn? Please share your experiences here.

Just a courtesy bump up. I'm sure those who raided the labels for "Black Friday" deals will now focus their attention on regaling us with details on the mixing seminar they attended(?)

I'm starting to sense an obsession.

In the market place in Wetherby, where I live, there's a telephone box (remember them?) with a poster in it advertising the release of Twilight (remember that?)

When Mr Myerson's mixing seminar is still being advertised in nine years' time, you'll have a complaint.

Yeah, sure TG, but did anyone here actually attend this heavily-advertised seminar? We know millons of "Tweens" obsess over Twilight, but of this score-mixing seminar, we know nothing!

To quote the late, great Albert Popwell--Star Wars fans will have to Google that--"I gotsta know."

Fair enough. Maybe you'll get lucky. Do you feel lucky? Well do yah, Phelps?

"I attended the Alan Meyerson Score-Mixing Seminar (in France) and all I got was this 'I attended the Alan Meyerson Score-Mixing Seminar (in France) T-Shirt.'"

As to the question at hand, further bump ups of said thread are unnecessary; I will let the Alan Meyerson score-mixing seminar (in France) banner ad serve as this thread's reminder.

I learned a lot of valuable info, like move the faders up if you want the music to be loud and powerful, and pull the faders down if you don't want the music to overpower quiet dialog.

8:30 - Coffee, light breakfast.
9:00 - Welcome; Volume knob basics.
10:30 - Coffee break, networking
11:00 - Turning up the volume: When you want the music to be really loud.
Noon - Lunch, Keynote Address: Was that a tympani, or an explosion?
1:30 - Turning down the volume: When you want the music to be really quiet.
3:00 - Dessert, networking
3:30 - Where is that damn buzz coming from? Incorporating the quirks of your inexpensive equipment into the soundscape.
5:00 Cocktail reception, networking

Onya, thank you! That is exactly the kind of detailed film score-mixing minutiae I require and which I'm sure many here will also appreciate.

Between all those coffee and cocktail breaks, the ol' mixing knobs must have been hard to grab a hold of (unlike the ones George Martin or Joe Meek used to fondle).

The swag bag included replacement knobs, in case coffee or beer spilled on them.

Between this seminar and your appearance outside Sony's Toyko headquarters during the compact disc protests, I'm about half ready to annoint you our resident film music "Johnny on the spot"!

Keep those remniscences coming, folks (when not making those bulk score CD purchases every week).

For those who might not know, Alan Meyerson has a storied career in the score mixing biz, and has had his hands on the knobs of many of your favorite (recent) blockbuster scores, including that Blade Runner 2049 stuff many here chunter on about:

Yes, but his Score Mixing Seminar ad will live forever.

I just tried to apply for one of the four upcoming seminars in 2018 but you have to link to three mixes that you’ve produced. I do a mean Bombay, but that’s it.

Other than Onya's insider tidbits, there has been a veritable information blackout on this score mixing seminar.

Odd, considering Mr. Meyerson's high-profile career and number of commercial projects.

You know what's humorous? Even though we've been talking about this for almost four days, even as I posted in this thread, that ad is there still.

Talk about getting your monies worth.

When all the fanboy complaints about that rotten Blade Runner 2049 film and score (and booklets) have subsided, and the last insult by the last film score nerd standing has been shat out, the score mixing seminar advert will still be there at the top of the page where it's always been, and though with Mr. Meyerson's eyeglasses will have been long out of style, his message will bleat on, a steadfast symbol of internet constancy.
