Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (snore) Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wake me up when something (ANYTHING) happens... kev, nuffin ever happens, thats the point of it. You sit in a deck chair, knotted hanky on head, you fall asleep sipping beer and when you hear clapping 3 hours later it means you missed someone getting out. Litefoot just reminded me why i cant fkn stand bastard cricket.

You see jimbo - kev was right. Even our own "enthusiasts" arent very enthusiastic. Cricket has a face only a mother could love.

Looks like me and Tall Guy vs the rest of the board! I think they're including me in the lukewarm reaction bit. I always found cricket to be a much better game to play than to watch. Football is "The beautiful game" but you need a level of fitness to play it that exceeds that needed for cricket. I could still lumber down the square for 22, 44 or 66 yards every so often, not to mention a race to stop a boundary, but on a football pitch, even five-a-side, I'd be blowing after a few minutes and throwing up after ten. Cricket is lazy summer evenings and a 20-over office game followed by a drink or two. Or it's a day at Headingley mixing and chatting with the other team's supporters quite happily, and switching between abusing the boundary fielders and asking them for photos. The flip side is the corporate day out at Lords, when the match is rained off and you have to network ALL DAY, which is excruciatingly tedious. Happened to me a couple of times in the 90s. I also got to an ODI World Cup game at Southampton between the West Indies and New Zealand, getting slightly high from the clouds (literally) of smoke floating over from the Windies terraces!
