Hey all. I tried doing a search but the system is experiencing problems. So what is the track listing for this set? Is it a simple repressing of the original soundtrack album from '77? If so, what's on disc 3 besides the holograms?
Saw this today; if memory serves, it’s the complete score a la the RCA special Ed’s, minus the main title collection cue. 3 vinyls with the 3rd having the holograms. Book & box. Was interested until I saw the price of $200 Cdn; not that interested....
Special limited edition holograms are so 90's LOL But seriously, a 40th anniversary Star Wars release on Walt Disney Records, this gives me hope for the possibility of more worthwhile releases in the future!
So it is the original LP presentation. But I don't get the single repeat track on the third LP. If they wanted to be creative they should've included a Meco cue as a bonus.
I saw this earlier. It seems strange that the 3rd LP only has one track on it. I wonder if it's only on one side. Weird.
I think the 3rd LP is the one with the hologram and maybe space was needed for the hologram etching. But yes, they could have put another track on there that isn't already on the other 2 LPs.
What I don't get is, what's the point? The whole attraction of vinyl is that it is a higher quality copy of analog sources than possible on compact disc, but isn't this just gonna be the digital files printed onto vinyl...?
Yeah, for $200, you can get all of the first six episodes of the saga on vinyl (five of them are double-LPs) in brand new pressings in a box set --- and pretend you're looking at a hologram on some other disc.
