It'd definitely be nice to have in cases where a mix is radically different, or something is edited more intricately than a layperson can replicate if they want to. As a bonus, to avoid an Ultimate Edition scenario.
Many of these scores have alts and source music on them. I don't include everything in my playlist. At least have it available so we have a choice. I think you just made Thor cry.
I'm all over the place on this. I never saw any reason why on Return of the Jedi we had suites AND an end credits (that replicated most of the suites) on an already short album. OTOH, I am livid (well... annoyed) that Rogue One doesn't have the end credits.
Don't get me started about having Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra nearly complete on THREE tracks on Indiana Jones and Last Crusade.
But for the most part I'm in the "Give me a choice."
OTOH, I'm trying to put my "ULTIMATE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK" mix together and I can't for the life of me decide whether to pick film versions or album versions or keep what's on screen but edit back in music that was dialed out entirely or WHAT!
Fortunately Titanic is such a mishmash on film that I'll just take what's on the CD and be delighted!
