The Capes & Masks?– Comic Book Heroes

I got this LP for Christmas one year.... didn't know what to make of it back then when I was a kid, and I STILL don't know what to make of it! I'm not sure I ever listened to anything but the first few tracks when I first got it(I think I was 10, and my brother had NO idea what he was buying me!), but I'm now listening to the entire thing, and this is pretty damned good!!! As far as I can tell, there's basically NO INFORMATION on the internet on the story behind this release.
If any of YOU have any info, please share it here! I would love to know the "particulars" about how this release came to be!

This was a thrift store find for me, probably sometime in the mid 80's. A couple years back, I got a CD called "Murder, Inc." by Irving Joseph and was surprised to hear that it shared some tracks with the Capes & Masks album. For instance, my favorite track, "The Atom Smasher Fights The C.A.N.A.R.Y. Gang From The Planet Zeroxa", is called "Prison Break" on the Murder, Inc. album.

According to Discogs, the Joseph album was released in 1960, and the Capes & Masks was in '66. I don't know what the connection between the two might be.

The CD release of the Joseph album is on the Polish "GAD Records" label. It doesn't seem to be stocked there anymore, but I got my copy from Dusty Groove.
