And its pretty good too. I haven't been the biggest fan of Mr. Z, but it's a pretty compelling prog rock concert masquerading as film music ;-)

GoblinScore said, "I'm watching this in parts too, and while he's covering more disliked pieces then likes for my taste, it's a good show..." Those are my sentiments too. Zimmer did put on a good show, almost a rock show, with fine soloists. Some of the females were in skimpy outfits but not the guys which robbed me wee bit. It is best to watch this in segments; otherwise, it is too long for one sitting. I was pulled in when he played his anthem pieces like Crimson Tide or Gladiator. They are thematic. But like GoblinScore, some of his pieces did not appeal to me. Some seemed tuneless and sounded more like soundscapes that lasted a VERY long time, so I used the fast forward button. If you like all of his works, it would appeal to you.

I had to add, in many interviews Zimmer, like Kamen, points up the rock and roll influence, and it's a bit of fun to see him really back that (up to varying success) in this concert. I guess I mean he really backs up that talk over the years here. I love that he opens the whole thing fumbling about on a crummy, probably family antique, upright piano, moving to banjo, then keyboards. I got a kick out of it. Another thing, all this Zimmer talk....makes me want to play one of his discs....see. this is why he's taking over the world!! Off to play Spider Man 2 now... Peace! Sean
